Did you see Sebastian’s delightful 2nd birthday party video yesterday? If not… go watch! Candice transformed the backyard into a magical mid-summer’s birthday dinner party with some high impact, and simple, decorations.
She hung masses of blue ribbon strands and sewn star garlands from the arbor.
And dinner doesn’t need to be fussy to feel fancy. Keep it simple, beautiful, in season and family style to reduce your stress and still feed the masses.
The blue china and white serving pieces take on magical feeling simply because they are outside. Don’t be afraid to take the “real” stuff into the yard!
The gorgeous and simple table setting included blue glass wear, a burlap runner, gold tea light candles (can’t find gold? Paint them before you light them!), moss in tins and a scattering of gold glittered stars.
Set one long table so everyone can sit together! A hodge podge of chairs is balanced by the continuity of the place settings.
Balloons filled with helium on single strings often get tangled outside – try filling with air and stringing them as garland for an even more impactful statement.
And behold the homemade cake! It’s perceftion, no? My mouth waters just looking at it! Topped with a simple “2” and one candle, it’s just what the birthday boy needed.
