Bonjour, y’all! Ten days after our nation’s birthday comes our second favorite July holiday – Bastille Day (as English speaking countries know it)! In France, it’s formally called La Fête Nationale (The National Celebration) and commonly Le quatorze juillet (the fourteenth of July) and celebrates the beginning of the revolution and the storming of the bastille (get a quick and easy Bastille Day crash course here).
We’ll be sharing one of our favorite (and truly easy) desserts, a sweet bistro apron, some Bastille Day traditions and some of our favorite French exports. Voila! You get a trip to France this week with us!
PS – Sarah’s favorite July holiday is probably Canada Day (July 1). But since I’m authoring the post, I win on favorite national days.
PPS – “Voila” aka wah-lah – think “ta-da” or like a magician with a flourish!
Oh la la!!! I’m so excited!!!
love it! it’s always inspiring to see what you lasses come up with!
xo
ppps – canada day is actually july 1 :)
Sarah: As a Canadian, and someone who posted a recipe for Nanaimo Bars last week, I was kind of insulted that Amanda didn’t mention it :)
Thank you for catching my date mistake, Sarah! I fixed it!
I TOTALLY did! Totally. <3
