As part of your decor, as a cute “award” at a Halloween Costume Party, or even to “Boo” a neighbor with these Halloween rosettes are just too easy to whip together to NOT find a reason to make a batch.
I used 1 sheet of 12×12 Mini Dot cardstock, some embellishments and 6×6 papers from the My Mind’s Eye Something Wicked line, a glue gun, and a few scraps of cardstock for the backs of the rosettes.
The key, I think, to making rosettes a simple project is scoring the lines prior to accordion folding the pieces. I used my Martha Stewart Paper Trimmer to score 1/2 inch lines on the 12×12 sheet or cardstock and then switch the blade to cut two strips for each rosette. The rosette will be double the width of the strip you cut.
Accordion fold two strips of the same width and glue them together to make a circle. We have a full tutorial here. Secure the back with a piece of scrap cardstock and some hot glue.
Then embellish!
This dapper guy and his bird were layered on black glitter polka dots and get black glitter and white striped “ribbons”.
There are a million combinations you could use – even replacing or adding numbers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for a costume, pie, or apple bobbing contest. Add a pin to the back and they become wearable!
