With the start of a new year comes a whole new year of memories. One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of a new year is to look back through my phone pics, my Project Life album and my ChatBooks and recall all of the amazing, funny, real life things that happened. Some of them are so small, I forget (like the time Vivi perfectly lined up half a dozen pairs of shoes and that other time she tried to apply mascara and ended up looking a little Ke$ha…) and some of them are pretty significant (like ending up in the emergency room with a swollen face from a freak allergic reaction to a mystery food).
Some, though, are just memories – not photographic moments. Those, I like to have written down. Something funny my brother texted, a kind gesture from a neighbor, something the dog did or a funny thing that happened. Those little snippets get scribbled down (Project Life cards are really handy for this, but so are junk mail envelopes) and tossed into a jar.
Some of the jars I’ve seen are daily reminders to look for the good, some are pure memories, some are kid quips and some are physical reminders of things done and accomplished (a ticket stub or a sea shell) – but whatever you choose to put in your jar there is no doubt it will bring a flood of memories at the end of the year. This year I intend to only use Project Life cards so I can slip them in a page in the back of my 2015 book and the year/memories text was just cut on my Silhouette in gold foil.
Happy New Year, friends! May it be filled with a whole jar full of amazingness!
What’s the difference in using gold foil over gold vinyl? I’m new Silhouette Cameo owner. Thanks!
They are just different materials that have a little bit of a difference in the finish. The foil is a little shinier – and we like shine!
