I’ve never been a big April Fool’s Day practical joker. I’m not big on creating huge messes that I have to clean up. Covering the floor with Legos might seem like fun, but I know how that will end, and wrapping the sink sprayer with an elastic will only end up getting me wet since my kids probably aren’t washing their hands!
Deep down I want to be the fun mom, and I think I’ve rounded up some pranks that are low on mess but high on kids’ enjoyment (all without making the kitty litter cake!). We’re talking magical donut plants and a clean ketchup prank.
We’d love to hear your ideas for a memorable April Fools!
- Doughnut Seeds: Have the kids plant a cheerio, and watch the amazement when a doughnut grows. There’s even a printable.
- Balloon Avalanche: This takes a bit of effort in the form of blowing up balloons, but not too much mess.
- Faux Grilled Cheese: This is my favorite. Fooling kids with something delicious!
- Ketchup Bottle: I think this would be the kids’ favorite, and it could see it getting use long past April 1st.
