Creepin’ It Real: DIY Halloween Tote Bags

Once I latch on to a good pun – well – it’s hard to let go. Recycling my Halloween pun de l’année onto a tote just seemed like the right thing to do. I thought about a tee shirt for a hot second  – but a tote I could carry, like, every day from now until Halloween. #Winning.

A quick run in the Silhouette software, a cut on t-shirt transfer material and about 5 minutes of ironing – done and done.

One of my favorite things about any of the vinyl material is NOT using the mat in the cutter. Just a bonus.

There are so many great tutorials for cutting and adhering the transfer vinyl – but the one things I almost ALWAYS forget — to flip the image. Don’t forget to flip the image!

Can’t handle the awesome. Ok – I know – it’s just a tote bag — but it makes me laugh every time I use it. And it made the checker at the grocery store laugh, and a mom at Target giggle, and when Vivi was having a meltdown in a parking lot it took all of my #adulting to refrain from making her take a picture with it. So, yeah, it’s awesome.

So quick, I made two as teacher’s gifts… because why not? Shower them in presents, I say. Especially when your kid is going through a “thing” and you appreciate that she has a fabulous place to spend 7 hours a day. Not that we’re going through that right now.

I feel like this would absolutely go to the next level with a handprint spider on it. Gah. Someone do it and send a picture!
