Although this is a thoughtful and well received gift for just about anyone we particularly love giving an at home date night basket to our new parent friends. We include everything they need for an easy, but home made, dinner for two and maybe a new release DVD or Netflix gift code.
We’ve used a take-out container to hold a jar of pasta, homemade pasta sauce, utensils, a bubbly drink (the Pellegrino could easily be replaced with a split of champagne or prosecco or two wee bottles of wine), cloth napkins and cute paper straws and a delicious dessert (Do you have a specialty dessert? Include it!). We added these adorable disposable wooden utensils, because if you’re taking someone dinner they shouldn’t have to do dishes! Everything is held in place with some slate gray crinkle shred. It’s an easy and inexpensive addition that takes the whole presentation to the next level.
Sarah made an incredible tomato sauce and the addition of a custom label makes it even more special – who wouldn’t be thrilled to receive a jar of pure love? Of course you could use a store bought jar of sauce, too!
Wrap the whole box in clear cello and tie it up with a big satin bow. We like to spend the extra pennies to buy double faced satin ribbon. It not only looks super luxurious but it’s really forgiving when you tie a bow- the pretty side is always showing since both sides are pretty! The large manilla tag was simply embellished with a printable label affixed with double stick tape. A note on the back is the final touch for this dinner-in-a-box gift.
We love these labels so much we want you to have them, too! They’re equally charming printed on cardstock and attached with double stick tape as they are printed on self-adhesive kraft, white or fabric mediums.
