We are ending apple week with a delicious treat. Have you ever tried apple cider donuts? If not, we have something amazing for you! These donuts are baked, which makes them a lot healthier than the deep fried version. These are pretty much the perfect treat for Fall. They make a great after school snack, and the glazing and sugaring process is just the thing for little helping hands.
These are perfect right out of the oven. It might be the east coast girl in me, but warm donuts with a cider glaze and sugar spice topping are just the way to welcome in Fall. It’s still pretty warm here today, but the weather is definitely starting to cool off. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we’ll truly be able to appreciate these in all their glory!
These donuts are an easy make ahead snack. You can make the batter ahead of time and place it in a disposable pastry bags and store it in the fridge. Since the donuts only bake for about 5 minutes, you can have these ready by the time the kids hang up their backpacks and wash their hands!
I use these and these
donut tins. The mini donuts make me feel like I’m not eating as much (when I’m probably eating more!). If you don’t have the special donut tins you can always use mini muffin tins. If you want to make these extra healthy, you can add a 1/4 cup of grated apple to the batter.
What’s your go to Fall snack?
