Just when we thought Alt couldn’t get any better – it does. Winter 2016 marked the last Alt Summit at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT and it was an event to remember. Candice taught a start to finish photo styling class, Amanda hosted a round table with Misha about writing an e-course and Sarah hosted an epic mini-party on Friday night with Anne and Erica.
Wednesday Night : Sponsor dinner night. Amanda dined with the gals from Collectively and Sarah visited with Hayneedle. It’s a fun, intimate way to start the week.
THURSDAY: The conference opened with keynotes from Jihan Zencirli, Mariam Naficy, Luvvie Ajayi, and Sarah Michelle Gellar!
The four gave stand alone talks on four different topics: how to Hope for the Worst, how to Create a Personal Style That Matches Brand Values, Authenticity in the Age of Social Media, and The Evolution of Personalized Experiences.
Thursday morning also unveils all of the amazing sponsor lounges.
Sherwin-Williams debuted their color of the year “Alabaster” – and if I hadn’t just painted my living room, I’d be looking at buying buckets of this color.
Our friends from Hayneedle has an utterly fabulous “Desk for Success” set up. It was fun to visit face to face with people we only knew through email!
We met the good folks from Lorissa’s Kitchen and literally drooled over their all natural jerkies.
Waverly Home showed off some of their new fabrics and wall papers – including some peel and stick looks! We can’t wait to get our hands on some for a little makeover project.
We ran into all kinds of friends – some we’d met in person and some we hugged for the first time!
Thursday afternoon, La Crema and Cents of Style treated us to a set with Hive Riot and a glass of (much deserved, in my opinion) wine.
Thursday night we gathered “Under the Stars” for star gazing, celestial tattoos and fortune telling.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed at an event as large as this – we were thankful for great friends who were along for the ride!

Some detail shots from Candice’s class:
Friday was a “wash, rinse and repeat” day. Friday evening at Alt is always marked by 7-10 “Mini Parties” being hosted concurrently on one floor of the hotel. Sarah, Anne and Erica hosted one of the best mini parties I’ve ever been to!
Their theme was “It’s A Marshmallow World in the Winter” and I’m going to leave it to Sarah to show all the pictures in another post… but there was a MARSHMALLOW CHANDELIER AND A SNOW MACHINE.
We’re looking forward to more conferences and as sad as we are to leave SLC, we’re really excited that Alt is moving to Palm Springs next winter!
