The animals, the smells, the chaos – the Zoo is full of plenty to keep your wild ones busy! Sometimes, though, it’s fun to have a game or a purpose to focus on while walking around the zoo.
Peek-A-Zoo is a simple animal matching or “scavenger hunt” game thats suitable for as young as 2. I liked to use this with my younger classes (to work on reading and letter recognition – like, “Can you find the Rhino? It starts with an “r”!”, and matching) and my older classes got into it as a competition.
Our kiddos enjoyed the “hunt” for the next animal and enjoyed marking them off on their game board. We hope your little (and maybe not so little) ones enjoy searching and finding all the animals at the zoo!
We printed these on card stock and tied a crayon (doesn’t need sharpened or a lid!) to a clipboard with the animal search attached.
P.s. – Our zoo doesn’t have sharks or penguins so we substitute those for a “wild card” animals. You can do the same for your zoo if there are animals on the card not living at your zoo. Either kids’ choice, mom’s whim or whatever you can think of.
