So you know how in a huge part of the country it’s cold and snowy? Well we’re having downright spring time weather – today’s high was in the 80’s! It’s great for playing outside and not feeling gloomy or cold – but my boots still needed a few more wears and I have sweaters I never got out of storage!
Needless to say, the cute Valentine sweater dress I bought for Vivi isn’t going to be practical right now so Sarah came to the rescue (again!) with this take on our felt heart elbow patch long sleeve tee.
She sewed sweet pink hearts on the front of a plain white tee to make little heart pockets. They are just the right size to stash a lolli, a few rocks, some raisins and some tiny spanish moss balls – or so my backyard explorer reports.
Use the same general gist as the heart elbow patches and cute two hearts out of felt, pin them in place and sew them onto your tee. Sarah used a blanket stitch – but a straight stitch will work just fine, too. Instead of going around the whole heart, leave the tops open to make a pocket.
Now… will the weather call for striped ruffle pants or a sweet denim skirt?
