With most of our party attendants in the 2-4 range, the sprinkles needed to be semi-contained to avoid a gigantic sprinkles mess. Sarah found these cute containers in the wedding favors section at Michaels.
With a few holes in the top they were transformed into perfect, little-hand-sized, sprinkle shakers. I used a hammer and awl (the sharp pokey thing) to make my holes. Sarah brought several that she used a drill and small drill bit to make the holes. The size of your holes depends on the size of your sprinkles.
Mark the hole placement on the lid of the container – or just free hand it.
Protect your work surface (I used an old cutting board) and line the tip of the awl up with your dot. Gently tap on the end with the hammer being careful to not go too far in (the hole will be giant!) or damage the surface underneath.
Fill with sprinkles and you’re ready to decorate! With the addition of a label, they’d make great party favors for an adult or kid’s cookie decorating party. Our label says “Hope your Valentine’s Day is SPRINKLED with love”.
